Your Role:

As a Weekend Medical Assistant, you will be the backbone of our patient care operations on Saturdays and Sundays. You will work closely with providers to ensure seamless patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment & Care: Obtain vital signs, record medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Administrative Support: Manage check-in/check-out processes, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
  • Provider Assistance: Assist physicians and nurses during examinations, drawing blood, administering injections as directed, and preparing treatment rooms.
  • Patient Education: Provide clear instructions regarding medications, follow-up care, and health maintenance to patients and families.
  • Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hospital hygiene protocols and safety guidelines to protect patients and staff.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock exam rooms and medical supplies to ensure readiness for daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA (AAMA) or RMA certification required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
