Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT systems
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims
- Resolve billing discrepancies through patient and insurer communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Utilize Epic EHR systems for billing documentation
- Generate monthly financial reports for department review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, Medisoft, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and guidelines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
