Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility efficiently
- Maintain sterile compounding environments following USP 797 guidelines
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and potential side effects
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Prior experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in high-pressure situations
- Proficient in using pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional customer service skills with a patient-first approach
