Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records with precision
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer patient inquiries about medications
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations and HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workspace according to safety standards
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy license in good standing
- Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy for medication compounding
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and prescription abbreviations
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods
