Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle surgical instruments/equipment sterilization and maintenance
- Document procedure details and inventory management
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow
- Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years OR experience in Level 1 trauma center
- Expertise in sterile processing and aseptic technique
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
- BLS/CPR certification maintained
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
