Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize medical urgency using established triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and family members regarding care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Administer initial treatments and medications as directed by physician orders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow
- Educate patients on home care instructions and follow-up procedures
- Monitor vital signs and track patient progress throughout treatment
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or triage experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- BSN preferred (ADN candidates with experience considered)
