Job Summary
The Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patient calls, evaluating symptoms, and providing appropriate medical advice or directing patients to the appropriate level of care. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to make quick, sound clinical decisions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone assessments to evaluate patient symptoms and medical history.
- Make clinical decisions regarding appropriate level of care (home care, ER, urgent care, physician referral).
- Document patient interactions accurately and timely in the EMR system.
- Provide patient education and medication instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.
- Adhere to all state nursing regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a triage or telehealth setting.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle high call volumes.
