Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring the highest standards of dignity and comfort.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at the scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Companionship & Communication: Engage clients in meaningful conversations, play games, and accompany them to medical appointments or social outings to reduce isolation.
- Household Support: Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and report any significant changes to the case manager.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies, following established safety protocols and protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred but not always required for entry-level.
- Experience: Previous experience in caregiving, elder care, or a related healthcare field is highly desirable.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid, clean driver's license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
- CPR & First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and First Aid certification.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and transfer clients safely (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.
