Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide emotional support, engage clients in conversation, and participate in recreational activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist clients in transferring in and out of bed, chairs, or wheelchairs, as well as walking with assistance when needed.
- Medication Management: Promptly remind clients to take their prescribed medications and ensure they are taken safely.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to the client's dietary needs and preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light cleaning tasks.
- Documentation: Accurately record daily care activities, vital signs, and any changes in the client's condition in the care log.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health care or caregiving is highly desirable.
- Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable personal transportation required for client travel.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification must be obtained prior to start date.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen actively.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
