Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by preparing instruments, sutures, and supplies.
- Maintain the sterile field during surgical interventions and anticipate the surgeon's needs.
- Transcribe physician orders accurately and efficiently using electronic medical records.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping to ensure optimal surgical conditions.
- Monitor and inventory surgical supplies and equipment to ensure availability.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room in a safe and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital safety and sterilization protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required; Tech in Surgery (TS) accepted.
- Minimum 1-2 years of acute care surgical experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
