Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications and assist with medication administration if certified.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light recreational activities.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, social events, and running errands as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately record daily care logs and incidents in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) Certification is a plus but not always required for entry-level companion care.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for helping others.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
