Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises using proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment; ensure bed linens are changed and rooms are sanitized.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and patients' families to update them on patient conditions and care plans.
- Document all patient interactions and care provided according to facility policies.
Qualifications
- Current and valid CNA license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients safely (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliable transportation to various healthcare facility locations within the Virginia Beach area.
