Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Assistance: Provide assistance with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communication: Communicate changes in patient condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs.
- Hygiene: Ensure patient rooms are clean, tidy, and sanitized to prevent infection.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Texas.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50lbs), and perform physical tasks as needed.
