Responsibilities
- Patient Hygiene & Comfort: Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure dignity and comfort.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients with ambulation, transfers, and using walkers or wheelchairs safely.
- Communication Liaison: Act as the eyes and ears for the nursing team by reporting changes in patient behavior or condition immediately.
- Dietary Support: Assist patients with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring they stay hydrated.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) regarding patient care activities.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to call lights and assist in emergency situations following safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is required. Current CNA Certification (or enrollment in a state-approved CNA program) is preferred.
- License: Valid Nurse Aide Certification (CNA) issued by the State of Texas.
- Experience: Entry Level candidates with a strong passion for healthcare are encouraged to apply; prior experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to show empathy and patience in challenging situations.
- Professionalism: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and health assessment.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and other support staff.
