Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, dressing assistance, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper lifting and transfer techniques.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and injury.
- Document all patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient status.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of New Mexico.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) currently in good standing.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient dignity and respect.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
