Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring the highest level of dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transfers, walking, and positioning, using proper body mechanics to ensure safety for both the patient and the caregiver.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to individual dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients, adhering to strict infection control and hygiene protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, patients' families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive care plan.
- Document all care activities and any changes in the patient's condition in the electronic health record (EHR) promptly.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Massachusetts required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shifts.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and transfer patients for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
