Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices to prevent injury.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and nutritional needs.
- Document patient care activities, including intake and output, in accordance with facility policies.
- Respond immediately to patient needs and emergencies, communicating changes in condition to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment in accordance with infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Ohio.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift or move patients as needed.
- Must be willing to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM).
