Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and documentation under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, reporting changes in condition to the charge nurse immediately.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infections and accidents.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and follow protocol for Code Blue or other urgent situations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active CNA certification from the State of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
