Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Status: Observe and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and behavior to the RN or charge nurse immediately.
- Assist with ADLs: Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) to ensure patient comfort and hygiene.
- Medication Support: Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, assist with medication administration and ensure patients receive their prescribed treatments on time.
- Safe Patient Handling: Utilize proper body mechanics and equipment to safely transfer and reposition patients to prevent injury.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain patient records, including shift reports and flow sheets, in compliance with facility policies.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of Missouri required.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or AHA is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the night shift.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
