Role Overview:
As a CNA on the night shift, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care while they rest. You will be the eyes and ears of our nursing staff, providing essential support to enhance patient comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding according to dietary restrictions.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests during the night shift.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, especially in a long-term care or hospital setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- CPR certification is required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
