Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring them to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and individual patient needs.
- Document patient care activities and updates in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- Current, unencumbered nursing assistant license in the state of New Mexico.
- CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely and stand for extended periods.
- Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a strong work ethic.
