Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist Medical Staff: Communicate patient status changes and concerns to Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians promptly.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and organized to promote a healing environment.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with feeding and ensure proper nutrition intake according to dietary restrictions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to patient calls and assist in emergency situations as directed by nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid and active CNA Certification and state licensure required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for top candidates.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients weighing up to 200 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
- Professionalism: Strong moral character, reliability, and adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
