Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
- Observe and report any changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the registered nurse or charge nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Document patient care activities and accurate times of service.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
