Responsibilities
- Provide direct, personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist with mobility, transferring, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and transfer devices.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient needs and updates.
- Administer medications as directed by a licensed nurse and document administration accurately.
Qualifications
- Current and active Massachusetts CNA Certification (LNA) required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience as a CNA or in a similar healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
