Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the dispensary inventory to ensure product availability.
- Patient Assistance: Greet patients, answer inquiries regarding medications, and provide basic medication counseling.
- Insurance Processing: Verify insurance coverage, file claims, and process payments efficiently.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Technology: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
