Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and pharmaceutical supply chain logistics
- Process insurance claims and maintain precise patient records
- Provide medication counseling and resolve patient inquiries
- Ensure compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Operate pharmacy dispensing technology including robotic systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong mathematical and pharmaceutical calculation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- Background check and drug screening required
