Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify medications following prescription orders
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain electronic health records and pharmacy databases
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Comply with HIPAA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Train junior pharmacy technicians on workflows and systems
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong math and pharmaceutical calculation skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Valid Arizona driver's license (for deliveries)
