Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare and process blood specimens accurately according to established laboratory protocols.
- Interact professionally with patients of all ages, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
- Verify patient identification and medical information to ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the nursing and laboratory staff to ensure timely turnaround of samples.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
