Responsibilities
- Verify physician orders and prepare prescriptions for dispensing with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform insurance verification and patient counseling to ensure medication adherence and understanding.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly stock counts.
- Operate pharmacy computer systems to input data accurately and process payments efficiently.
- Assist the Pharmacist with medication compounding and sterile compounding duties.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle customer service inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Current state license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas (if applicable).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
