Responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and prepare prescriptions for dispensing with strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • Perform insurance verification and patient counseling to ensure medication adherence and understanding.
  • Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly stock counts.
  • Operate pharmacy computer systems to input data accurately and process payments efficiently.
  • Assist the Pharmacist with medication compounding and sterile compounding duties.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Handle customer service inquiries and resolve complaints professionally and promptly.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
  • Current state license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas (if applicable).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
