Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with prescription inquiries, provide medication counseling where appropriate, and ensure a positive patient experience.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare and package medications, including sterile compounding, following strict safety protocols.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations, regarding patient privacy and medication dispensing.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and patient interactions using pharmacy management software.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification is required.
- Licensure: Valid Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with computer systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
