Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control systems including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Provide exceptional customer service regarding medication inquiries and prescription status
- Maintain precise patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance
- Operate automated dispensing equipment and pharmacy software (eRx, PBM systems)
- Assist with sterile compounding and IV admixtures when certified
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong mathematical skills for dosage calculations
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- Valid Florida driver's license for occasional deliveries
