Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and ordering of pharmaceutical supplies
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records
- Provide medication counseling and patient education
- Ensure compliance with NY State pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Current NY State Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- High school diploma or equivalent; PTCB preferred
