Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient workflow
- Train new staff on phlebotomy techniques and safety procedures
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and pediatric techniques
- Strong knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for diverse patient populations
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
