Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for all specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and sterile supply management
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols and OSHA compliance in all surgical settings
- Inventory and manage surgical equipment, ensuring optimal availability and functionality
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless perioperative care
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through NBSTSA
- 2+ years recent experience in Level I trauma center OR
- Current BLS certification with ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days
- Proficiency in robotic surgery equipment (e.g., da Vinci systems)
- Knowledge of AORN standards and sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand 8+ hours with occasional lifting of 50+ pounds
- Arizona Surgical Tech license in good standing
