Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and materials
- Monitor sterile fields and ensure adherence to infection control protocols
- Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain optimal workflow efficiency
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated care
- Participate in equipment sterilization and inventory management
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in electronic documentation systems
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends
