Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Monitor patient vital signs and sterile technique compliance
- Handle surgical specimens and documentation per hospital protocols
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Train junior staff on sterile processing procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ST79)
- Ability to work in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover multiple surgical specialties
