Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients to promote healing and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers, strictly following safety protocols to prevent falls and injuries.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies within the department.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the State of Nebraska.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine, compassionate bedside manner.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods; physical stamina is essential.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is a plus but not always required.
