Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring patient dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques to prevent injury to both the patient and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic patient management.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients with special dietary requirements.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and promote healing.
- Document patient care activities and observations in electronic health records (EHR) as required by facility policy.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the state of North Carolina.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting and transferring patients.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Commitment to HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
