Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring patient dignity and comfort.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper techniques to prevent injury to both the patient and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic patient management.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding for patients with special dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and promote healing.
  • Document patient care activities and observations in electronic health records (EHR) as required by facility policy.

Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the state of North Carolina.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting and transferring patients.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not always required.
