Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Support patients in transferring, walking, and using mobility aids to prevent falls and ensure safety.
- Medication & Treatment Support: Help administer medications as directed by RNs/LPNs and perform basic wound care and catheter care.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient changes in condition to the nursing staff and physicians promptly.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and flow sheets as per hospital policy.
- Environment Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited CNA program is mandatory.
- Licensure: Current and active Florida CNA license required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Professionalism: Adherence to HIPAA regulations and a strong commitment to patient privacy and safety.
