Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and hygiene.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems as required by facility policies.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with registered nurses (RNs) and physicians regarding patient conditions, changes in status, and care plans.
- Assistance with Procedures: Support nursing staff during medical procedures, wound care, and other clinical interventions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control guidelines to create a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Meal Assistance: Monitor dietary needs and assist patients with meal times, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active Georgia CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR/BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on patient advocacy.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist with patient transfers.
- Compassion: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
