Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during their stay.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment in accordance with hospital standards.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or status to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Follow infection control protocols and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered North Carolina CNA license required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care with a strong work ethic.
