Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor Health Status: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs, pain levels, and behavioral changes.
- Administer Medications: Accurately administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, logs, and care plans in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Environment Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment to prevent accidents and promote patient dignity.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist in evacuation procedures when necessary.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid Texas State Board of Nursing (TSBN) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR/BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not mandatory for immediate hires.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed; physical ability to perform essential job functions.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
