Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature accurately.
- Support patients with mobility, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs or assisting with walking.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary patient environment to prevent infection and ensure comfort.
- Communicate changes in a patient’s condition, mood, or behavior to the registered nurse or charge nurse immediately.
- Provide basic hygiene care, such as oral care and skin care, ensuring patient dignity is maintained.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding patients who require assistance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not strictly required for entry-level roles.
- Willingness to learn and complete CNA certification training if state requirements apply.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic health record documentation.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred.
