Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers and ensure safety.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring proper documentation in patient charts.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in accordance with infection control protocols and facility standards.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a positive and healing atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
