Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations, reporting any abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Turn, reposition, and move patients safely to prevent bedsores and ensure mobility.
- Administer medication as directed by registered nurses and document all procedures and observations accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and adhere to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license currently active in the State of Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required.
- Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or hospital nursing is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients safely (up to 50 lbs).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for field positions.
