Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Medication Assistance: Assist patients with medication as prescribed and document administration times and reactions.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, concerns, and changes in condition to the nursing staff and physicians.
- Hygiene Support: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, ensuring their rooms are organized and sanitized.
- Assistance: Help patients with mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure comfort and safety.
Qualifications
- License: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Texas.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
