Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the nursing team to report changes in patient condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment in accordance with healthcare standards.
- Administer medications as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents to enhance their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
