Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and report significant changes to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment to prevent infections and ensure patient comfort.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during the night shift.
- Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests to ensure safety and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Current, active North Carolina CNA license required.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) must be maintained.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations appropriately.
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
