Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or concerns to the Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients.
- Document daily care activities and patient interactions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Engage patients in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of New York.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from an approved provider is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving patients (up to 50 lbs).
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a focus on dignity and respect.
- Reliable transportation to and from healthcare facilities.
