Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Patient Health: Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate) accurately and timely.
- Provide Comfort: Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and move patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document Care: Accurately document patient care activities and observations in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with Team: Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain a Clean Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and sanitary at all times.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active CNA or Patient Care Technician certification in the state of Texas.
- Licensure: Current state license (if applicable).
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of basic medical procedures and vital signs monitoring.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients frequently throughout the shift.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
